And it hurts so much,
But it’s because it’s love.
And I don’t know how I’ll switch back over to before knowing this feeling,
I don’t know that I can.
But I have to make good,
A promise was made,
To do this for us,
To do this to be happy,
To do this if it works,
And to stop when love becomes the thing keeping us in,
The thing holding us here.
Because love is not that type of strong.
Not like glue —
But like a change in weather,
Clouds roll in to rearrange the view.
—
I have to be strong,
I have to be good,
I need to take a step back,
I need to relook, relook.
You’re a tangle of thoughts,
A mess of anxious wondering,
A scattered puzzle of what was.
We’re growing so fast,
And not always side by side,
We’re going through so much,
Some yours, some mine.
—
Just know that baby I love you,
And I don’t see any day near where that is not still my true divine,
But if you must go, I wish you a world of wonders —
You changed my life.
You changed me.
You changed the person that I am destined to be.
